Depart from Pakse and drive up to the scenic Bolaven Plateau, passing parts of the Ho Chi Minh trail and local coffee and tea plantations along the way. Begin your trek from Ban Hue Jiet Village (Ngae ethnic minority), walking through plantations and the stunning Dan Sinxai limestone area. Stop at Champi Waterfall for a picnic lunch and a refreshing swim. In the afternoon, continue trekking to the famous 220 m Tad Fane Waterfall and Tad Yeung Waterfall. Transfer to Ban Nong Luang for your overnight stay. In the late afternoon, explore the village, enjoy dinner with your host family, and take part in a traditional Baci ceremony. Optional Activity: Tad Fane Zipline Adventure β soar 300 m above the twin waterfalls, the highest zipline in Laos, with four thrilling lines to choose from (USD 40/person). (~2.5 hours transfer + 2 hours trekking)
After breakfast, bid farewell to your hosts and hike to Dan Noy limestone cliffs, enjoying breathtaking views of Dong Hua Sao National Protected Area and discovering a rare 1,000-year-old rosewood tree. Continue on an easy trek to Tad Chet Zun Waterfall (7-level falls) and Tad Suea Waterfall, passing through the jungle and spotting wild herbs and orchids. Take in the scenic vistas of the Champasak area and the Mekong River along the way. After lunch, hike back to the village via a different trail and transfer back to Pakse.
